We used this text to model the trait, Ideas, from the Six Traits of Writing. The students went on a scavenger hunt for interesting details for their stories. Their prompt was, "Nothing Interesting Happens at Carroll Elementary." I can't wait to read them!

We are learning how to give positive feedback on papers and how to help each other add details. They did great!
Book Buddies - Botkin/Carson classes
The 3rd graders reviewed text to self connections with the 1st graders today. They asked them if they had ever felt the way the character in the book had and then created a poster to share. :)
