Book Buddies- Botkin and Carson

I tried to get pictures of the kids on morning announcements. (I took pictures of the screen in our room.) On Thursday, they were experiencing technical difficulties so I took a picture of that group when they returned. On Friday, one of the announcers was blocking our view so I did the best I could. :) 

I can explain the elements of plot and characters in drama

After reading a short play, the kids discussed what the plot was based on the dialogue they read.

January birthdays were recognized on Friday. 

Reagan won the Cool Kid shirt for third grade. 

Victoria was recognized for her participation in the Reflections contest sponsored by PTA. 

Bluebonnet update

In order to be elgible to vote for the top Bluebonnet book, a student must have completed five surveys. 

January 24 is the last day for students to take a Bluebonnet survey.

 On February 7, Mrs. Denham will have a Bluebonnet party. Students who voted will be able to attend. They will be the first ones to hear what the top choice at Carroll is and what the top choice of the state is. 

Revising for voice

In writing, we are working on revising our papers to give them more of a voice. The students had to circle two "boring" sentences in their writings and make them sound more interesting.
