This was in the packet that PTA sent home last Thursday. 

Book Boxes

The students filled their book boxes with books from the classroom library. We will begin going to the school library next week. 

Sticky Notes

This year, third graders will use sticky notes to help track their thinking. The students made their own copy to place in their journals. I have each child a baggie with sticky notes. When I walk around to confer with them, I can discuss different connections, questions and items they want to share.

Summer Fun

The students shared one place that they visited this summer. They wrote the place on a sticky note, and we placed it on the map. It was fun to see where everyone went this summer. 

Meet Mrs. Bassinger

Welcome to Third Grade! This will be my second year at Bright Elementary. I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. My husband and I recently celebrated our first year anniversary. We have a chocolate lab puppy. Her name is Darby. In my free time, I enjoy shopping, spending time with my family, crafting Pinterest projects and finding new restaurants to try! I cannot wait to get this year started. What an adventure we have ahead of us!

Welcome to Third Grade! This year begins my 9th year of teaching. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in elementary education /special education. I am married and have three children. When I'm not at school, you can find me on a baseball, softball, or football field. Teaching is my passion, and I can't wait to get to know you and your family. This is going to be a great year!
